We are a collection of 15 hermit crabs and one human being named Lisa. Together we total four different species and range in size from a tiny pencil eraser to 5'7" tall!

I am a support teacher at our local middle school. I was the advisor of the school's hermit crab club, formally known as the Hermit Crab Enthusiasts of Lancaster County. I am moderator of an online hermit crab conservation task force, author of the educational Hermit Crab Board Game Kit, proctor of the official Hermit Crab Certification Test, and promoter of my own copyrighted hermit crab booklets. Yes, I am crazy about hermit crabs!

My beloved hermit crabs are:

1. Big Bert
2. Gargantuous Grover
3. Gigantic Gertrude
4. Jumboliah Snuffolufagus
5. Ursula Agnes Burtha
6. Ulysses Heathcliff
7. Eager Eddie
8. Lovely Lima
9. Waldorf Limulus Michael
10. Precious Peanut
11. Little Linus
12. Lil' Lulu
13. Fragile Flossie
14. Happy Harriet
15. Rufus Bruno

These 15 guys keep me very busy!

However, this website is dedicated to the 6 land and 10 marine hermit crabs that I have known and loved, but who have passed on to Hermie Heaven. To Colossal Clifford, Gladys, Humongous Heathcliff, Wilbur Wetherbie, Ula Wilma, Saltwater Samantha, Oliveoyle, Salty Sam, Barney, Petunia, Thaddeus, Eleanor, Reef Rufus, Aquatic Amelia, Miniature Marine Michael, and especially Ernie: THANK YOU for changing my life!
I just love hermit crabs!
Can you tell?
